Why Vegan, Cruelty Free and 10 Free Nail Polish is a better option

I was 37 when I gave birth to my 2nd child and 41 with my third. Both pregnancies were considered “At Risk” due to my age. Because of this reason I wanted to make sure that my stress level was as low as possible, that the food i ate was nutritious and healthy, that the exercises i did were beneficial for delivery and postpartum and that the cosmetics i wore were not harmful to me and the baby i carried in my womb. So when it came to body butters, it had to be shea butter, cocoa butter, based with yummy essential oils. And when it came to Nail Polish, it had to be vegan, toxic free and cruelty free.

VEGAN AND CRUELTY FREE

One of the questions I was asked at my first pop up shop was “aren’t all nail polishes vegan?” And the answer is NO. A lot of brands have animal ingredients such as lanolin, honey, beeswax, royal jelly, gelatin and unfortunately in order to get these ingredients, often the process is to kill or torture the animals in which they are derived from. Animals are also unnecessarily used for testing.

Total transparency, i am not a vegan. I’ve been a pescatarian, a vegetarian and when i was pregnant my craving for meat was insane. I try to be honest with myself as best as i can with what i consume and try to be as waste free as possible. When i have the choice to eliminate products that use unnecessary ingredients and torture animals for beauty sake, i opt myself out.

Take a stance on ethical practices and opt out on companies that perform animal testing. Your nails will love you for it.

SO WHAT IS 10 FREE?

10 Free means that the Loyal Noon Nail Polish does not contain 10 of the most toxic ingredients used in a lot of nail polishes. Loyal Noon nail polishes do not contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Dibutyl Phthalate, Xylene, TPHP, Parabens, Fragrances, and Phthalates. These toxins can Leach into your body and has the potential to disrupt hormones in people and animals. For an expecting mother, especially someone who is considered “High Risk”, you should steer clear from nail polish brands that contain these toxins.

I know we live in a world where keeping toxins from our bodies is a daily challenge…easier said than done. But when we have the opportunity to make a choice of lessening the amount that goes in, I say try it.

Offering a safer and cleaner option for your body is at the core of the Loyal Noon Ethics. So love your body, treat it right, treat your world right and shine in the noonlight.
