Sustainably bit by bit

This past summer after I had my third tiny human, I challenged myself to think a little more minimal..even sustainable. I made the decision to rock this pair of white kicks all summer long. Yup, no open-toe shoes, and no sandals. They were cute enough to rock with just about anything and easy-breezy enough especially since I had a newborn to think about. It cut out some time on deciding what shoes to wear for the day. Easy Breezy.

I am nowhere near living a sustainable lifestyle, but after this challenge, I realized that I can implement that practice into my every day little by little. And quite honestly I think we all do it. Just think about those cookie tins your grandma had, filled with sewing kits...ahh yes, don’t lose it, reuse it! (side joke for all the paw patrol moms out there)

If you have had the pleasure of dining at my place you will quickly realize I pretty much have no drinking glasses! LOL. (but I do have a few wine glasses… I mean, that’s a must!) In replace of glasses, I reuse all the pasta sauce jars, bouillon jars, jelly jars, etc for glasses. It’s a running joke, but I dig it. I think it’s these tiny practices, if we acknowledge them, that can help us understand what sustainability is, what it’s not, and why it’s important.

As the Loyal Noon brand continues to develop, with the help of so many beautiful sisters that we’ve come across lately, I believe it’s voice will fit comfortably geared towards sisterhood and how it lives in a culture that sustains us socially, spiritually and responsibly.
